About the Journal

About The Journal

Journal of Pericardiology (JOP) is a high-quality, open access, and peer-reviewed journal that is devoted to the growth of knowledge in the area of pericardial medicine and cardiovascular care. The journal offers a dedicated avenue through which clinicians, researchers, surgeons, and other related health practitioners can present premium quality research, clinical observations, and other practical innovations in the field of pericardium and related heart diseases.

Pericardial diseases may be complicated and diverse- between inflammatory diseases such as pericarditis and fluid-related diseases such as effusion, and tamponade- and may be multidisciplinary. The JOP was formed with the goal of uniting the most effective work in this delicate field of cardiology and contributing to the further development of clinical and scientific knowledge.

Who We Serve

The Journal of Pericardiology embraces the works of the broad-based community comprising of:

  • Cardiovascular surgeons and cardiologists.
  • Physicians in internal medicine.
  • Cardiovascular disease and cardiovascular biology researchers.
  • Diagnostic specialists and imaging specialists.
  • Translational researchers and clinical scientists.
  • Medical educators, fellows, and residents.

We do not address just care providers who specialize in a specific field but also healthcare teams that are concerned about evidence-based care to improve patient outcomes.

What We Publish

JOP provides both original research and clinical work that educates science and practice. The journal features:

  • New Articles reporting new data and information.
  • Review Articles summarizing the existing knowledge and developmental trends.
  • Case Reports and Clinical Analyses to emphasize the real-world situations.
  • Professional Reflections and Ideas in relation to complex or dynamic issues.
  • Technical Reports De novo diagnostic or interventional techniques.

Scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and the possible contribution of each article to the field are criteria used to select each article.

Commitment to Quality

All the articles submitted to JOP are peer reviewed with the help of another author who is a specialist in the pericardial and cardiovascular medicine. Our editorial process is informed by values of fairness, transparency as well as excellence. We would like to provide timely decision making, as well as, maintain ethical and academic standards of each publication.

Open and Accessible

Since it is an open-access journal, all the material published in JOP can be freely read, downloaded, and shared without any restrictions on subscriptions. Our vision is that through open access, new knowledge dissemination is faster, that there is increased collaboration across the globe, and that research will more readily have a real-world impact because it can directly change the treatment of patients, such as the case of pericardiology where the treatment has a direct impact on the patient.

A Platform for Progress

The Journal of Pericardiology is not just a publishing source but a community center of those who are concerned with learning more about the pericardium and how to ensure the heart is healthy. Through its openness to the contributions of various countries worldwide, JOP brings about a rich discussion, scientific development, and better clinical practice in cardiovascular medicine.

We welcome you to read, bring and share in the discoveries that continue to take place in determining the future of pericardial care.
